What Are the Thresholds for TRI Reporting? manufactured 25,000 pounds or more of the toxic chemical in the reporting year; processed 25,000 pounds or more of the toxic chemical in the reporting year; or. otherwise used 10,000 pounds or more of the toxic chemical in the reporting year.

EPCRA section 313 requires facilities meeting regulatory requirements to complete a Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI) Form annually for specified chemicals. The form must be submitted annually to EPA and the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) by July 1.

Submit a TRI Form R for each TRI-listed chemical it manufactures, processes, or otherwise uses in quantities above the reporting threshold. (Note: Facilities may be eligible to submit the shorter Form A if they meet certain criteria. See the TRI Reporting Forms and Instructions for details.)

Facilities report their TRI information annually to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and to the state in which they are located. Reports must be submitted by July 1 of the following year.

TRI facilities are required to report on releases of toxic chemicals into the air, water, and land. In addition, they need to report off-site transfers -- a transfer of wastes for chemical recycling, treatment, or disposal at a separate facility.

Form R, the Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI) Report, is a comprehensive annual report that documents the use and release of toxic chemicals that are commonly used in industry. This requirement is identified under Section 313 of the Federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).

The TRI regulations require owners and operators of certain facilities that manufacture, import, process, or otherwise use certain toxic chemicals to report annually their releases of those chemicals to each environmental medium.
