In electrical engineering, admittance is a measure of how easily a circuit or device will allow a current to flow. It is defined as the reciprocal of impedance, analogous to how conductance & resistance are defined.

Admittance of an AC circuit is the reciprocal of its impedance. Using the impedance value one can easily derive the Admittance values of the circuit. where 'Z' is the impedance, Z = R+jX. So, admittance 'Y' can be written as, Y = 1/R+jX.

Admittance is the reciprocal of impedance Z. The admittance is represented by the letter “Y” and the unit of admittance is siemens (S) or mho (℧). How to calculate the admittance? Admittance is the reciprocal of impedance Z= R + jX.

Explanation: We know that impedance is the reciprocal of admittance, hence the correct expression for impedance is: Z=1/Y.

NORMALISATION. In order to understand what normalisation is, we have to be able to deduce the impedance function of a filter. This is simply the sum of the impedances found in the circuit, under steady state conditions, with respect to frequency.

The Smith Chart allows easy calculation of the transformation of a complex load impedance through an arbitrary length of transmission line. It also allows the calculation of the admittance Y = 1/Z of an impedance. The impedance is represented by a normalized impedance z. Once around the circle is a line length of l/2.

Admittance, Y, is the reciprocal of impedance. G is the conductance and B is the susceptance. The synonymous unit of Admittance is mho, and the symbol ℧ (an upside-down uppercase omega Ω), are also in common use. Normally we take impedance for series circuit to express voltage in terms of current.

The inverse of impedance is called "Admittance". Conductance, Susceptance, and Admittance are all denoted by the variables Y or G, and are given the units Siemens.
