Den Chief Service Award Requirements Serve as a staff member of a special Cub Scouting event, such as a Scouting show, bicycle rodeo, etc. Serve as a staff member of a Cub Scout day camp or �resident camp. Advance one rank. Assist in recruiting three new Cub Scouts. Assist three Cub Scouts to become Webelos Scouts.

Shoulder cords are used as indicators of leadership or ambassadors of Scouting. They are worn in addition to or in the place of traditional badges of office. They are all worn UNDER the LEFT epaulet of the uniform shirt and UNDER the armpit of the Cub Scout, Boy/Varsity Scout or Venturer.

Denners and Assistant Denners assist the Den Chief and Den Leader and Assistant with the management of the Den during weekly Den meetings and Den activities on their own or as part of the Pack. Denners wear two strands of yellow cord; Assistant Denners wear one strand of yellow cord.

A den chief is a Boy Scout who assists a Cub Scout den leader or Webelos Scout den leader at den meetings, pack meetings, and other events. He's a ready source of games, songs, skits, and skills, and he encourages the boys in their advancement.

There are two types of den chief cords that are to be worn during their year of service. The den chief cord is a blue and gold braid worn over the left shoulder (under their epaulet), and the Webelos den chief cord is a red, blue, and gold braid worn over the left shoulder (under their epaulet).

A Den Chief is a scout in 7th – 10th grade who works with a den of cub scouts under the supervision of the group's adult Den Leader.
