Form B(OTA) is the form for British nationals to register citizenship. British nationals are persons with a close connection to Britain. British nationals eligible for citizenship are: A British Overseas Citizen.

When a person becomes a British national by registration or naturalisation, UKVI issue them with a nationality certificate. A person is officially naturalised or registered from the date entered on their British nationality certificate. Their certificate shows the customer's: current name.

UK immigration rules allow an automatic claim to British Citizenship if you have a grandparent (and, in rare cases, a great-grandparent) born in the UK. This is known as British Citizenship by descent, or more specifically, British Citizenship by double descent.

There are several routes to British citizenship for Americans. If you have lived in the UK for a certain period of time, you could be eligible for citizenship. You could also be eligible for British citizenship by birth, by descent, or by double descent (British citizenship through a grandparent).

If you are a British National and also a national or citizen of another country, you should file application form BOTA to register for citizenship. If you are a British National and have no other nationality or citizenship, you should file application form BOS to register for citizenship.

You must register your child's birth ing to the regulations in the country where the child was born. They'll give you a local birth certificate. This local birth certificate should be accepted in the UK, for example when you apply for a passport or register with a school or doctor.
