Level three referrals, in addition to some or all of the previous levels, level three referral is where someone gives a testimonial and gives a verbal recommendation to you about the prospect, takes time talking to the prospect.

What is a One-to-One? Simply put, it's a meeting, in person, between two BNI members (or even prospective members) to deepen the understanding between them in order to foster a better business relationship.

The 1-2-1 process allows members to deepen mutual knowledge and develop better relationships with each other. It is building this personal connection that helps to expedite the referral process.

Level 1: Name and contact information. Your referral source has recommended you to someone and given them your contact information. They have done just enough work to provide you with a phone number, address, email, or some other way of contacting the prospect and that prospect knows you might contact them.

Referral tier, similarly to a cart promotion tier or a loyalty program tier, is a specified level within a referral program that offers different conditions and rewards than other available tiers. Usually, tiers are used to gamify a campaign and increase user engagement by offering better rewards at higher levels.

It takes about 50 hours of interaction to move a person from “acquaintance” to “casual friend.” It takes a total of 90 hours to become “real friends,” and 200 hours to become close friends. When BNI members reach the 90-hour mark, they start receiving more referrals.

BNI can accelerate the process of developing trust between BNI members through regular 1-2-1s. To be effective, a 1-2-1 needs to be both structured and social. The more you can find overlapping areas of professional and personal interest, the more successful your 1-2-1 is going to be.

Level 2: Supplementary material. In addition to the recommendation they gave, the referral source provided either your marketing literature, website information, or other content to the prospect for their review but nothing substantially more.
