Child Labor Laws in Louisiana Minors who are 14 and 15 years old can work three hours on a school day, 18 hours during a school week, eight hours on a non-school day or 40 hours during a non-school week. They can't work before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. (from June 1 through Labor Day, that's extended to 9 p.m.).
