Self storage (a shorthand for "self-service storage," and also known as "device storage") is an industry that rents storage space (such as rooms, lockers, containers, and/or outdoor space), also known as "storage units," to tenants, usually on a short-term basis (often month-to-month).

Self-Storage Unit means premises that consist of individual enclosed compartments for storing goods or materials (other than hazardous or offensive goods or materials).

Storage Property means each parcel of real property owned or operated by the Borrower, the General Partner or any of their Subsidiaries and upon which there is located a self-storage facility. Sample 1Sample 2. Storage Property a self-storage facility owned and operated by the Borrower or any of its Subsidiaries.

Beginning on July 1, House Enrolled Act 1621 will accelerate these grace periods and lead to quicker seizures and shortened timeframes before auctions. Under the new law, storage companies will be able to seize the renter's unit only five days after a missed payment and send the items to auction after 60 days.

Each storage facility may offer one, two of three of the following types of self-storage: inside storage, outside storage, and drive-up storage.

If such default is not cured within 10 days after its occurrence, then the owner may proceed to enforce such lien by selling the contents of the occupant's unit at public auction, for cash, and apply the proceeds to satisfaction of the lien, with the surplus, if any, to be disbursed as provided in this section.

Defining self-storage assets The storage space – also referred to as storage units – is typically rented on a month-to-month basis. This space will make up the most space for any self-storage asset type.
