1 Detached sheds and pergolas smaller than 80 square feet and shorter than 10 feet in height with no electrical, plumbing, or mechanical equipment do not require a building permit but are required to meet all applicable code requirements, including meeting accessory building setbacks.

The city requires permits and inspections to ensure safe building, coordinated development, effective land use and high-quality site planning. The alteration, demolition, construction, enlargement, movement, repair, removal or replacement of any building or structure is authorized by a permit.

Permit applications must be submitted to the Clark County Building Department and are subject to zoning setback requirements.

Structures equal to or less than 120 square feet cannot exceed 8 feet in height (if within setbacks); No building permit would be required through Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.

Call 702-229-6251 and a representative will assist you in filling out required permit applications. Only a Nevada licensed contractor may obtain a building permit for commercial construction.

All applications for building, plumbing, electrical and other construction permits must be completed online. Public work stations and staff are available in the lobby to help customers create their online accounts and applications on a first-come, first-served basis.

Variances and ADU permits can take 2-4 months to get approved.

If you build without a permit or fail to get a final inspection approval, we may fine you or take other enforcement action against you.
