Don't be mistaken. The ROTC Green to Gold selection process is VERY competitive, and has only gotten more so every year. For example, the Active Duty Option selection list only used to accept 200 candidates every year. Last year, the selection list tightened up to only 150 highly qualified candidates.

The Army Green to Gold Program provides Enlisted Soldiers an opportunity to pursue a commission as an Army Officers. Soldiers can work toward either a baccalaureate or graduate degree while participating in the ROTC leadership program.

The Green to Gold Active Duty Option is a two-year program that provides eligible, Active Army enlisted Soldiers an opportunity to complete their first baccalaureate degree or first graduate degree and earn a commission as an Army Officer.

To qualify for ROTC scholarships, you need a minimum 2.5 high school GPA for ROTC. You must also maintain a 2.5 college GPA. Additional entry requirements include being at least 17 years old, scoring at least 19 on the ACT or 920 on the SAT, and passing your military branch's physical fitness test.

The 104-R is your academic plan to complete your degree and is required for all students competing for a scholarship and all contracted Cadets regardless of scholarship status. This must be updated every semester with grades from the previous semester and any changes in your coursework.

They can have anywhere from no college credit to already having a bachelor's degree and everything in between. Green to Gold options are tailored to the Soldier depending on their qualifications and needs — all that is required to begin is the Soldier's desire to pursue this opportunity.”

There are several other requirements for the Green to Gold program: College GPA 2.5 or higher. General Technical (GT) Score of 110 or higher on ASVAB. Completion of Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT)

Be a U.S. citizen. Be between the ages of 17 and under 34 years of age in the calendar year in which you are to be commissioned. Waivers are required for applicants between 34-39 years old at the time of the projected commissioning date (past 39 years old is non-waiverable).
