ECBI - Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory. This parent-rating scale is used to assess both the frequency of child disruptive behaviors and the extent to which the parent finds the child's behavior troublesome. It has been widely used in treatment outcome studies for disruptive disorders.

The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) is a widely used questionnaire to assess behavioral and emotional problems. It is often used as a diagnostic screener, but autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are not included in the CBCL for school-aged children.

Individual Intensity Score items are summed up, with resultant scores ranging from 36 to 252. For each item, the parents' response regarding whether the behaviour is a problem for them ('Yes' = 1 , 'No' = 0) is also summed to create the Problem Score, ranging from 0 to 36.

PCIT therapy is implemented in two phases: (1) the Child-Directed Interaction Phase (CDI) where parents develop child-centered interaction skills to enhance the parent-child relationship; and (2) the Parent-Directed Interaction Phase (PDI) where caregivers learn additional behavior management skills.

The CBCL is a standardized form that parents fill out to describe their children's behavioral and emotional problems. The version of the CBCL for ages 2 and 3 years (CBCL/2 to 3) can be completed by parents in about 10 minutes. The version for ages 4 to 18 years (CBCL/4 to 18) includes competence items and problems.

The CBCL provides information on six scales: affective problems, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, anxiety, oppositional defiance, somatic problems, and conduct problems. An additional version is available for parents or caregivers of children aged 1.5–5 years.

The CBCL is used to assess a wide variety of behaviors and emotions in children, including depression. It's particularly useful when it is unclear what might be causing a child's problem behaviors or symptoms.

The ECBI is a 36-item parent report instrument used to assess common child behavior problems that occur with high frequency among children with disruptive behavior disorders. It is sensitive to changes with treatment and used to monitor weekly progress in PCIT.
