Settlement of Loss and Damage Claims. --- The TSP shall pay, deny, or make an offer within 60 days of receipt of a complete, substantiated claim. --- The TSP will complete payment to the owner within 30 days of receipt of notice that the owner has accepted a full or partial settlement.

What does an Inconvenience Claim cover? An Inconvenience Claim is a claim for things you have to rent or buy while you wait for your HHG to be delivered. This might include anything you need to live while your HHG is delayed, including kitchen items, bedding, towels, and clothing.

You may transfer any part of your loss or damage claim to your Military Claims Office (MCO) after claim submission through DPS. The MCO does not handle claims for residence damage. Once you make the transfer in Defense Personal Property System (DPS), the MCO will contact you if they need any additional information.

To begin filing an inconvenience claim, you should first notify your TSP that you intend to file a claim and ask for the inconvenience claim form if they have not already offered it to you. Then fill out and return the form to your TSP.
