A private motor carrier transports its own cargo, usually as a part of a business that produces, uses, sells and/or buys the cargo that is being hauled. A private motor carrier transports its own goods and is required to have a USDOT number but does not need operating authority (MC number).

An MC-Certificate is a Federal Document attesting to your compliance with FMCSR 366 and FMCSR 387 of the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49. This document certifies that said MC Number is valid and belongs to the listed Motor Carrier in compliance with all insurance and process agent requirements that have been met.
