The dunkee must move toward the front of the tank when coming up out of the water to avoid hitting their head on the seat. Never use hard balls. Never stand or kneel on seat. When being dunked, the dunkee must keep hands on knees and sit forward on the seat.

Anyone who is being dunked should wear water shoes or non-slip tennis shoes. Only use the balls that come with the rental dunk tank to hit the trigger. Don't hit or otherwise touch the trigger with your hand.

The maximum weight for participants being dunked is 250 pounds; minimum height is 5 feet tall.

In this activity, have your students nominate teachers, coaches, and other faculty to sit in a dunk tank perched above 4-5 feet of water. Based on the buy-in amount, students will have certain opportunities to try and submerge the dunkee by throwing balls at a target.

How far back should we place the line to throw the balls from? For children we recommend 10 to 15 feet. For adults we recommend 20 feet.

It's common to charge $1 or $2 per ball, or $3 to $5 for three balls. Some event organizers create special challenges, too, where multiple contestants take turns attempting to dunk their victim in a certain amount of time.

It's difficult to beat the thrill and satisfaction of throwing a softball as hard as possible in order to dunk someone in a tank of water — it's a lot of fun to do and a great way to raise money in any location, particularly during the summertime.
