Childcare Subsidy Income Requirement The parental contribution towards the cost of childcare for a family receiving fee subsidy is zero if family income is under $20,000. Over $20,000, it is 10 percent of income over $20,000. Over $40,000, there is an additional 20 percent for incomes.

You may qualify for reduced child care fees if you meet the following criteria: You currently pay more than $12 per day for child care. Your child is under the age of six. Your child is enrolled in a licensed child care facility that is participating in the national child care program.

You will be eligible for the 30-hour funded childcare offer if: You earn more than the equivalent of 16 hours at the national living wage or minimum wage per week: for example, over the next three months you expect to earn at least £1,853.28 – the National Living Wage if you are 23 or older.

You can apply if your child is under 13 years old (or up to 18 years old if your child has special needs and meets other criteria*) and in either: a licensed child care program (centre-based, home-based or in-home services) a child enrolled in a “children's recreation program” a camp.

The new spaces will be part of the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, meaning the cost to parents who enroll their children in these centres will be reduced to about $10 a day by September 2026.

The amount of childcare benefit or subsidy you receive is dependent on the number of children, the type of childcare they are in, whether they have special needs, and your household income. For example, if your child has special needs, they may qualify for an extra $150 per month for child care.

You are required to contact the Child Care Subsidy Service Centre if there is any change to your circumstances after you have applied. For more information call the toll free number 1-888-338-6622 or visit the web site (http://.mcf.gov.bc.ca/childcare/subsidy).
