How Long Does it Take to Get a Suppressor Tax Stamp? Unfortunately, the answer is anywhere from 30 or so days if you e-File using an ATF Form 1 in the name of a trust to about 12 months if you e-File a Form 3 as a trust.

These fingerprint cards may be obtained by contacting the Federal Explosives Licensing Center at 877-283-3352 or the ATF Distribution Center at 703-870-7526 or 703-870-7528. The fingerprint cards must be completed by your local law enforcement authority.

You can file your ATF eForm 1 as either an individual or a trust. If filing as a Trust additional documentation is required as explained below.

This form is used to apply the tax-exempt transfer of an unserviceable (welded) firearm to anyone other than a federal firearms licensee who has paid the required special (occupational) tax to deal in National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms and to or from government agencies.

The mission of ATF is to protect communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, the illegal use and storage of explosives, acts of arson and bombings, acts of terrorism, and the illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products.

The ATF now requires you to do two FingerPrint Cards per person for each NFA item you purchase. The ATF absolutely does not mind you doing your own FingerPrint cards as long as they are done correctly, and you are properly equipped to take them. This kit meets that requirement.

The ATF Form 4 is used to transfer an NFA Firearm to a non-FFL (individual or trust). ATF's Form 4 is an Application for Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of a Firearm .

You can't submit an electronic Form 4 if you're registering as an individual. Using a trust or corporation was already slightly faster; but, with the arrival of electronic submissions, an individual registration could take 3 times longer. It isn't possible to submit an electronic Form 4 with just a 'serial number'.

Most Form 1 wait times are about 30 days, again when filed electronically. But these times can vary wildly depending on how efficient the ATF is. Paper filing can take much longer, and is rarely done these days. Using the ATF eForms is simply the best, fastest and easiest way to go.

What is an ATF Form 1? ATF's Form 1 is actually ATF Form 5320.1. ... ATF Form 1 is an Application to Make and Register a Firearm. It is used whenever a non-FFL wants to make an NFA Firearm such as a silencer (suppressor), short barreled rifle (SBR), short barreled shotgun (SBS), or an Any Other Weapon (AOW).
