Option 1: Ask your local library staff for help in locating the book. See if another branch in your library system has it. If another branch has it, you can have it sent to a local branch of your choice. Option 2: You can Inter-Library Loan it.

The easiest way to find this is to use the library's catalog. Depending on the integrated library system (or ILS) the library subscribes to, the process might be slightly different. Generally, you can use a catalog system on a computer to search by title, author, subject, and more.

You borrow a book from a library. It is not meant to be bought and they have no sales mechanism. You buy books from a bookstore, whether online or actual physical store. If you see a book you want to own in the library, write down the name, author and ISBN.

First, google the name of your library and “purchase request” or “suggest a purchase.” Most libraries will have a dedicated form that you can fill out requesting a book be purchased and added to the library's collection. Usually the page will pop right up on Google.

Make Your Book Available Through Wholesalers Most libraries don't purchase directly from authors or even publishers. Instead, libraries generally buy books through wholesalers, such as Baker & Taylor or Ingram. Wholesalers will buy your book if you offer them a sizable discount.
