To apply for a career in missions, you must begin with your Assemblies of God district. If you do not have credentials, you should choose a district and apply for licensing. The missions appointment process must start at the District level. Upon District approval, the candidate may make formal application with AGWM.

It all started in 1946 when Noel Perkins, the General Council Missionary Director of the Assemblies of God, called upon Reverend Eldon Vincent to pioneer a new work on the island of Oahu in the Territory of Hawaii.

MAs assist a career missionary in areas of their skills and interests for 1 to 2 years. They serve in a variety of ministry capacities and have the opportunity to receive coaching from experienced leaders.

Missionary Associate An opportunity for those with or without AG ministerial credentials to serve with U.S. Missions for up to two years. This strategic period develops a more comprehensive understanding of a career in missions while working under a seasoned ministry leader.

A missionary team is an identifiable group of disciples who meet together regularly, care for each other selflessly, and partner with one another intentionally to make disciples and multiply churches among particular unreached peoples and/or places.

The Different Types of Missionaries All missionaries can fit into one of two basic categories: Short-term missionaries work on a single project and leave after they've completed their term. Long-term missionaries remain in the community they serve for years.

The Church's mission is to seek and save all who are lost in sin; the church is the body of Christ and consists of all people who accept Christ, regardless of Christian denomination. Divinely called and scripturally ordained ministers serve the church. Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel.
