How to fill out the Earned Income Disallowance Worksheet online
Filling out the Earned Income Disallowance Worksheet is crucial for individuals seeking assistance in public housing who have experienced changes in income due to employment. This guide will help users navigate the process effectively and with ease.
Follow the steps to complete the worksheet accurately.
- Click ‘Get Form’ button to obtain the worksheet and launch it in your preferred editor.
- Begin by entering the head of household's name in the designated space at the top of the form.
- Next, input the employed individual’s name below the head of household's name.
- Respond to the question regarding whether an adult family member had an increase in income due to employment by selecting 'Yes' or 'No'. If 'Yes', continue to answer the subsequent questions.
- For each of the following criteria, indicate 'Yes' or 'No': was the person unemployed for one or more years prior to employment? Did they earn less than 500 times the established minimum wage in the last 12 months? Are they currently participating in a job training program or self-sufficiency program? Do they receive Welfare benefits currently or within the last six months? Did they receive one-time benefits, wage subsidies, or transportation assistance from Welfare of at least $500 in the last six months? If 'Yes' to any questions, proceed with filling out the form.
- Establish the baseline income using the total unearned and earned income from the prior 50058 for this individual. Ensure this income is only their own and not from other family members.
- Sum the total unearned and earned income from the previous calculations to find the baseline total, which will remain constant throughout the tracking period for EID.
- Proceed to calculate the EID during the full exclusion period: first, enter the gross earned income now and total unearned income, then add these two figures.
- Take the baseline figure from page 1 and subtract it from the total derived in step 8. The result is the exclusion from earnings, as noted in line 7e of the 50058.
- If you are calculating EID during the phase-in period, repeat the process, including dividing line 5 from step 9 by 2 to find the exclusion from earnings.
- Once all values are filled in and confirmed, save any changes made to the worksheet, and you may also download, print, or share the completed form as needed.
