The term NOMOPHOBIA or NO MObile PHone PhoBIA is used to describe a psychological condition when people have a fear of being detached from mobile phone connectivity. The term NOMOPHOBIA is constructed on definitions described in the DSM-IV, it has been labelled as a "phobia for a particular/specific things".

Four themes emerged from the interviews as the dimensions of nomophobia. These dimensions are: (1) not being able to communicate, (2) losing connectedness, (3) not being able to access information and (4) giving up convenience.

The scale intervals and corresponding nomophobia levels are 0 to 20 points, the absence of nomophobia; 21 to 44 points, mild nomophobia; 45 to 74 points, moderate nomophobia; and 75 to 105 points, severe nomophobia.

Nomophobia is a term describing a growing fear in today's world—the fear of being without a mobile device, or beyond mobile phone contact.
