Applicants who have signs or symptoms suggestive of tuberculosis disease or have known HIV must have an IGRA or tuberculin skin test (TST) and a chest x-ray (anteroposterior or posteroanterior view and a lateral view), and must provide three sputum specimens to undergo microscopy for AFB, as well as culture for ...

It takes 48 to 72 hours (two to three days) to complete a skin TB test. Once you have your second visit with your healthcare provider, they'll be able to tell you if your skin's reaction indicates that you may or may not have a TB infection.

A TB skin test requires two visits with a health care provider. On the first visit the test is placed; on the second visit the health care provider reads the test. The TB skin test is performed by injecting a small amount of fluid (called tuberculin) into the skin on the lower part of the arm.

I hereby declare that I am prepared to cooperate in a tuberculosis test and any treatment. I am aware of the fact that I must undergo a TB test within three months after the residence permit has been issued.

The TB skin test is performed by injecting a small amount of fluid (called tuberculin) into the skin on the lower part of the arm. A person given the tuberculin skin test must return within 48 to 72 hours to have a trained health care worker look for a reaction on the arm.

You will need further tests and possible treatment if you are diagnosed with an active TB infection or LTBI during the screening. A positive TB test result will not affect your chances of getting a green card, as long as you follow the rules for additional testing and, if required, treatment.

You'll be given a chest x-ray to test for TB . If the result of the x-ray is not clear you may also be asked to give a sputum sample (phlegm coughed up from your lungs). If your test shows that you do not have TB , you'll be given a certificate which is valid for 6 months from the date of your x-ray.
