You should receive your building permit in around two days if the review process is completed without any issue. If there are discrepancies in the application or building plans themselves, you will be required to make changes and resubmit the plans to the review board.

RESIDENTIAL:ONE- & TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS ONLY NEW CONSTRUCTION: $50.00 FOR THE FIRST 3 FIXTURES. $10.00 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL FIXTURES. *NOTE: NO FEE PAID IN CONNECTION WITH AN APPLICATION FOR ANY BUILDING, PLUMBING OR GAS PERMIT SHALL BE RETURNED IF A PERMIT IS GRANTED REGUARDLESS IF WORK WAS DONE.

To apply, simply go online to the Citizen's Access Portal , fill out and submit the Class 1 Improvement Location Permit Application, along with all required documentation. Once the improvement location permit has been issued, the structural permit can be obtained.

Exterior work you can do without a permit includes: Putting up swings and other playground equipment. Installing gutters and downspouts....A permit usually is not required for interior, cosmetic changes such as: Installing new carpet or other flooring. Painting. Installing trim. Installing counter tops. Installing cabinets.

A residential building permit is required for any new structure, accessory building, addition and electrical, plumbing or HVAC work being preformed. You are also required to pull a residential building permit when changing the size of any window or doorway.

Minimum Building Permit Fee: $25.00. Rates are: $7.00 per $1000 spent for 1 & 2 families. $11.00 per $1000 spent for Commercial Properties.
