It's not easy to get into the Links–you must be referred by a member then go through a vetting process, or be the daughters of a member (called Heir-O-Links). It has 12,000 members in 276 chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Bahamas.

The Links organization was incorporated in 1951. Today, there are more than 11,000 members in about 270 chapters located in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and international chapters in Nassau, Bahamas and Frankfurt, Germany.
