Hangar owners, airport tenants and their employees, or anyone that conducts business or is based on the general aviation side of the airfield must obtain an airport issued Air Operations Area (AOA) identification badge for unescorted access to the aviation ramp area.

The Hollywood Burbank Airport Badging Office is responsible for issuing identification badges to all employees with a need to access restricted and public areas of the Airport. Customers include airline employees, tenants, contractors, vendors, consultants, government employees, and Authority employees.

Red badges will be assigned to Airline personnel. Red badges with a Yellow Secondary color are assigned to Governmental agencies. Access to tenant facilities. Blue badges with Red. Secondary are assigned to tenants requiring AOA/Secured area access to the main ramp area.

Blue badges with Red. Secondary are assigned to tenants requiring AOA/Secured area access to the main ramp area. Brown badges are assigned to corporate and perimeter tenants and allows access at their facilities. If access is required in an airline area, the badge will have a Red secondary color.

What type of badge do I need? There are two types of airport badges: Airport Operations Area (AOA) Badges and Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badges.

This badge is primarily issued to airline personnel, TSA officers, and Airport Staff. SIDA badge applicants must pass a Security Threat Assessment (STA) and a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and SIDA training.

It goes by many different names. Officially it is called the Access/ID Media, but there are various forms. There are badges that only identify the individual, then there are those that identify the individual and allow them to access doors and gates around the airport property.
