Standard solutions designed for the calibration of oxidation reduction potential (ORP)/redox electrodes. Products are used to ensure accurate electrode performance.

ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) is the measurement, in millivolts, of a solution's capacity for electron transfer (oxidation or reduction). ORP measurement may also be called REDOX for REDuction OXidation.

An ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) buffer is a standard solution used for the verification of all common ORP/redox sensors. Over time and use, sensors are affected by their environment, so verification with a lab ORP buffer helps ensure precision and extend a sensor's reliable operating life.

Both pH and ORP probes utilize a similar combination sensor technology where they compare a reference solution to the actual sample. pH sensors measure the hydrogen ion concentration and ORP probes instead measure the electron potential in the water. pH is a concentration measurement and ORP is not.

After selecting a suitable solution, rinse the electrode with distilled water and then immerse it in the calibration solution. After the temperature has stabilized, run the calibration command. Make sure that the sensor shows the mV value ing to the selected calibration solution.

Here are the steps to prepare a simple ORP calibration solution: Dissolve 3.732 grams of KHP (also known as 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, dipotassium salt) in 1000 mL of deionized water. This will give you a 1 M KHP solution. Dilute 10 mL of the 1 M KHP solution to 100 mL with deionized water.
