Get Nbme Form 6

Currently, the available NBME CBSSA forms are Form 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 and are considered the best and most accurate way to assess one's predicted performance on the USMLE Step 1. However, as of March 24th*, 2021, the NBME will be retiring all of the old CBSSA NBME forms and replacing them with 6 new NBME forms.

Repeating NBME exams generally reduces their predictive accuracy because students remember some of the questions and answers. If a significant amount of time has passed since using the practice exam the first time, predictive potential will be more accurate.

Self-paced timing offers examinees four times as long to complete questions as standard-paced (e.g. 5 hours to complete a Comprehensive Basic Science Self-Assessment block in self-paced timing, vs. 1 hour, 15 minutes to complete the same block in standard-paced).

There are several NBMEs available and the more data you have, the more accurately you will be able to predict your score. With that said, based on informal student reporting, the best NBME predictors seem to be forms 10 and 11.

There is no right or wrong time to take your NBME practice exams. There are a few to choose from, however. The UWorld Self-Assessments 1 and 2, or UWSA1 and UWSA2, are probably the most reliable practice exams out there. In particular, UWorld 2 is strongly correlated with your Step 1 score/pass rate.

Note that five out of the seven free NBME Self-Assessments are for Step 1. Considering the importance of your Step 1 score, make sure to use these exams wisely. You should thoroughly review each exam's diagnostic feedback.

Based on informal student reporting, NBME 28 and UWSA 2 are the most correlated with Step 1 performance. Given this information, it might be a good idea to take these two exams when you are further along in your dedicated study and closer to your actual test day.
