2.1) SANITARY LANDFILL, is suitable for non-hazardous solid waste and municipal solid waste. 2.2) SECURE LANDFILL, is suitable for industrial and hazardous solid waste which are pretreated to the stabilization and solidification stage before entering the landfill.

A landfill site, also known as a tip, dump, rubbish dump, garbage dump, or dumping ground, is a site for the disposal of waste materials.

The PVT landfill accepts only waste from construction and demolition projects. Waste materials include wood, plastic, metal, wire, concrete, roofing material, masonry, siding, asphalt, and dirt—the same materials that surround you in your home or office.

PVT is in Nanakuli, a community on the Waianae Coast of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Entrance to the facility is on Lualualei Naval Road, about one-quarter mile northeast of its intersection with Farrington Highway. From the main gate, the facility extends north for about one mile along Lualualei Road.

Disposal of public fill at public filling areas and mixed construction waste at sorting facilities or landfills has been the major approach for construction waste management. For sustainable development, we can no longer rely solely on reclamation to accept most of the inert construction waste.

Types of Landfills There are 3 main categories of landfills: Municipal Solid Waste Landfills (MSWLFs), Industrial Waste Landfills, and Hazardous Waste landfills.
