Harvard University accepts applications from students from all over the world. On the other hand, international students must be aware of the additional standards they must meet. International students must take an English proficiency examination, such as the TOEFL or IELTS.

We rarely admit applicants directly from undergraduate school. A bachelor's degree and evidence of quantitative proficiency such as success in undergraduate-level economics, statistics, or calculus courses. Read our standardized test score policy for more information.

Strong academic record Completion of at least four qualifying graduate-level courses similar to those in the Master in Public Policy core curriculum (including at least two courses that are quantitative in nature) or a relevant graduate degree.

Standardized Tests (GRE/GMAT/SAT and IELTS/TOEFL). A high score on standardized tests is a must for international students. SAT/ACT score: Minimum scorer of 1500+ in SAT with 750+ out of 800 in each subject. Harvard needs SAT1 and SAT2 scores. A 34+ score on the ACT is required.
