- For Item D, enter the total gallons of fuel consumed in both IFTA and non-IFTA jurisdictions using the specified fuel type.
- Compute your average fleet miles per gallon (MPG) in Item E by dividing the total miles (Item C) by the total gallons consumed (Item D).

- Calculate the taxable gallons in Column K by dividing Column I by the average MPG from Item E.
- Record the total tax paid gallons in Column L for fuel purchased in IFTA jurisdictions and maintain receipts for verification.
- Determine the net taxable gallons in Column M by subtracting Column L from Column K. Represent any credits in brackets.
- List the applicable tax rate in Column N for each jurisdiction, ensuring to refer to the latest tax rate information if not preprinted.
- Compute the tax or credit due in Column O by multiplying Column M with the tax rate in Column N.
- If applicable, add interest due in Column P for late filings, calculated on the tax from the due date.
