Connecticut prohibits the sale of ammunition or an ammunition magazine to any buyer unless the prospective ammunition purchaser: Has a handgun carry permit, gun sales permit, or long gun or handgun eligibility certificate, and presents such a credential to the seller; or.

Connecticut now has a statute prohibiting open carry of a firearm in plain view. But make sure that you do have a valid license or permit and that you keep that documentation on your person if you are carrying a firearm.

All pistol permits may be renewed by mail or in person at DESPP Headquarters 90 days prior to expiration or up to 90 days after expiration. No permit can be renewed after the 90 day grace period following the expiration date.

A conviction for Connecticut General Statutes § 29-35 - Carrying a handgun without a permit is a Class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.

Upon approval, the local authority will issue a Temporary State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers (DPS-11-C), effective for 60 days. Proof of valid state issued photo identification card.
