The pre-calculus mathematics recommended by the ABA and anecdotal suggestions by math majors who became lawyers, imply that future lawyers should at a minimum take undergraduate courses in college algebra, trigonometry, geometry, logic and statistics.

Applicants are required to have finished or is finishing a 4-year bachelor's degree in the arts or sciences from a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized college or university with any of the following subjects as major or field of concentration: Political Science.

You don't have to worry about this test so much. It's a “pass or fail” examination and the passing score is low (around 60–65) and I think you can even have it waived upon application in law school. Only schools under the Legal Education Board require this examination such as Ateneo and San Beda.

The law school coursework is diverse and vast, which means you can't afford to slack off. You need to put in the necessary work throughout the program if you want to succeed. In summary, law school is hard. Harder than regular college or universities, in terms of stress, workload, and required commitment.

Passing the LAE or its equivalent admission process is a requirement for admission to the U.P. College of Law. Applicants will be assessed for admissions on the basis of both the LAE results and their academic results.
