Get VA Affordable Housing Application - Norfolk

HUD helps apartment owners offer reduced rents to low-income tenants. To apply, contact or visit the management office of each apartment building that interests you. To apply for either type of help, visit your local Public Housing Agency (PHA).

Download and print the application online here. Scroll down to the list of open waiting lists, and select the "Download Housing Application" link. Pick up an application on the second Thursday of each month at 555 E. Main Street, 1st floor, Norfolk, VA 23510, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm ET.

You would apply for Section 8 assistance regardless of whether you have a job or you don't, but be prepared to provide proof of your income sources.

Income limits are created for families containing anywhere from one individual to eight individuals. Extremely low-income for a family of one may be $15,000 a year, but for a family of eight, $30,000 a year may be an extremely low-income level.
