Workers' compensation insurance provides medical and lost wage benefits to workers who are injured on the job. Unemployment benefits may be available to workers who have lost their job through no fault of their own. A worker does not have to be injured to collect unemployment benefits.

No time or money limits apply to these benefits. Workers' compensation should cover the care that you need for as long as you need it.

Workers' Compensation Settlements Settlements are determined by considering several factors, such as medical costs, lost wages, ongoing care or treatment, disfigurement, death, and more. With so many variables, there's never a solid answer to how much an injured party can receive in a settlement.

(a) A payer or employer shall not redirect or alter the scope of a referral to another provider for treatment or evaluation of a compensable injury. Any party who has concerns regarding a referral or its scope shall advise the other parties and providers involved.

Generally, you receive 2/3 of your average weekly wage for the duration of your treatment. If you or a loved one are completely prevented from working, you will receive temporary total disability (or TTD) benefits equal to two-thirds of your average weekly wage.

Your Employer Does Not Have To Hold Your Job Open Under Colorado workers' compensation law, your employer is not required to hold your job open for you or to provide you with a different job.
