This product is a "Hazardous Chemical" as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200.

ing to American Society of Testing and Materials Standard D-3699, "Standard specifications for kerosene," there are two types of kerosene fuels, 1-K and 2-K. The primary difference is sulfur content. Type 1-K contains 0.04 percent sulfur by weight and 2-K contains 0.30 percent sulfur by weight.

Hazard Class 3: Class 3 hazards are flammable liquids. These liquids include paints, alcohols, gasoline, kerosene and ethanol, and are recognized by red “flammable liquids” placards with the hazard class No. 3 at the bottom, and a flammable liquid graphic at the top.

This is a stable material that is flammable liquid (OSHA/GHS hazard category 3).

CAM2® K-1 KEROSENE is a low sulfur kerosene for heating and illumination. CAM2® K-1 KEROSENE is recommended for use in portable stoves, non-vented space heaters, and lanterns. This kerosene is also used as a cleaning solvent that can remove oil, grease, and tar.

This 1-K kerosene burns cleaner than 2-K kerosene. Klean-Strip® Kerosene meets ASTM 1-K Specifications and is suitable for all kerosene-burning heaters, lamps and stoves. Read entire label prior to use or storage. Keep out of reach of children.

Because of this, many districts and jurisdictions across the U.S. require kerosene to be stored in blue safety cans to help differentiate kerosene from other types of fuel.

Packing Group III, if the criteria for inclusion in Packing Group I or II are not met, such as kerosene and diesel.

Breathing in kerosene fumes (not vehicle exhaust) may cause dizziness, drowsiness headaches. Breathing in large amounts can result in coma, loss of muscle control, heart and lung problems. Kerosene can cause the skin to become irritated, dry and cracked; if the skin is exposed for a long time then burns may develop.

One-K grade is the purest form of kerosene. It's clear or slightly yellow, with a maximum sulfur content of 0.04 percent by weight. Due to its low sulfur content, it's possible to burn 1-K kerosene without a flue to remove combustion byproducts from the room.
