The results showed that the use of sewage sludge as a replacement for fine aggregate to produce concrete exhibited a positive effect on both its compressive strength and its capillary water absorption.

Masonry Sand is the very same sand used to mix concrete for brick laying. It is commonly used as a base for above ground swimming pools, also known as BRICK SAND. It is a clean, fine-grained sand used to make mortar.

Once treated, sewage sludge is then dried and added to a landfill, applied to agricultural cropland as fertilizer, or bagged with other materials and marketed as “biosolid compost” for use in agriculture and landscaping.

The most common types of bricks used in construction are based on clay as the material. These include burnt clay brick and fire clay brick. These are usually referred to as common brick.

The readily available raw waste materials such as RHA, quarry dust, fly ash, marble powder, and ESP were used in different proportions for brick production. Compressive strength, water absorption, efflorescence, and dimension tests were conducted to determine the quality of the bricks.

The shredded plastic is mixed with sand and subjected to extreme heat, producing a sludge that is moulded into different sized blocks. The end result is a paver that is anywhere between two and seven times stronger than concrete, half the weight, and as much as 15 percent cheaper, says Matee. It is also more durable.

The maximum percentages of dried sludge and sludge ash that can be mixed with clay for brick making are 40% and 50% respectively. The compressive strength of the bricks are 87.2N/mm2 for 0% sludge, decreasing to 37.9N/mm2 for 40% dried sludge, and 69.4N/mm2 for 50% sludge ash.

Waste clay brick (WCB) is silicate solid waste, its recycling has great environmental and social significance.
