P.E.O. is an organization where women CELEBRATE the advancement of women; EDUCATE women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College; and MOTIVATE women to achieve their highest aspirations. Iowa P.E.O.'s are extremely proud of our status as the Birthplace of the P.E.O.

P.E.O. International's headquarters are located at 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. These headquarters, known as the P.E.O. Executive Office, also include the Centennial Conference Center and are home to the offices for the staff members of the organization, historic archives and meeting space for local chapters.

September 27, 1927, the P.E.O. Memorial Library was dedicated to honor P.E.O.'s seven Founders.

P.E.O. is not a political or political action group. Individually, each member may work for causes of her choice outside of P.E.O. As members, we respect one another's political and/or religious views and activities.

Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O). P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has been celebrating women helping women reach for the stars. for more than 150 years.

P.E.O. has grown from the original membership of seven to almost a quarter of a million members in chapters in the United States and Canada. P.E.O. is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. In Texas we have over 250 chapters and more than 10,500 active members.
