Get IE TRCN1

This new form is now available on the Revenue website at the following link - TRCN1 - Form for the Cancellation of Tax Registration. This form is to be used when notifying Revenue of a cancellation of a tax registration such as any of the following: Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, Employer's PAYE/PRSI, RCT.

You can call HMRC on 0300 200 3310 and inform them you're no longer self-employed, or many have found the simplest way to do it is to de-register as self-employed online. You'll need the following to hand: Your National Insurance Number.

After you login to ROS go to the Other Services section and click on Manage Tax Registrations . From the next screen you need to click on Cease Registration for Income tax and complete the form on the next page. Also,if you are registered for VAT you will need to deregister.

If you wish to cancel your VAT registration, please contact your Revenue office. If you fail to notify your Revenue office, return forms and demands for estimated VAT liability will continue to issue automatically. Revenue will also cancel your VAT registration if your registration is not appropriate.
