Building Permit applications are completed online. Please go to Online Permit Applications; enter the information directly into the County's Permitting System. Once the application is completed online, the customer's information is entered directly into the County's permitting system.

Cut a new window or door opening, or widen existing openings. Move, remove or add walls. Build a stairway. Build a retaining wall more than four feet high or supporting a surcharge.

Building permits are issued by the city and county government in Virginia in which you'll be performing the construction work.
