Any Canadian or citizen of an Allied nation 18 years of age or older can join. You don't have to be a Veteran to support a Veteran. Everyone can help. How many members does the Legion have?

An appeal for unity led to the formation of the Dominion Veterans Alliance and, in Winnipeg in 1925, the Legion was founded as “The Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League.” It was incorporated by a special Act of Parliament and the Charter was issued in July 1926.

We endeavour to make a difference in the lives of Veterans, including military and RCMP members and their families; to support our communities and our country, and to always remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Government is continuing its collaboration with the Royal Canadian Legion to assist 16 Legion facilities, including the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #92 in Freeport, Digby Co.
