FL-800 [Rev. September 1, 2021] JOINT PETITION FOR SUMMARY DISSOLUTION. (Family Law—Summary Dissolution)

The downside of filing a summary dissolution is making sure each party completes all the required forms. There is also a risk of the case being unilaterally dismissed by either party.

States the court's decision in a summary dissolution case to end your marriage or domestic partnership. This states the date that you become single and tells each of you to comply with the agreement attached to the judgment. Get form FL-825.

1) Fill out form FL-830, Notice of Revocation of Summary Dissolution Petition. THIS FORM DOES NOT NEED THE OTHER PARTY'S SIGNATURE. 2) Make three copies and sign them 3) Include 2 stamped envelopes, addressed EXACTLY as on the form. 4) Submit these items to the Clerk's office for filing.

Joint Petition for Summary Dissolution (FL-800)

A summary dissolution is an easier way to get divorced or end a domestic partnership. It's less expensive and there's not as much paperwork as the standard divorce process. Not everyone can use this process.

While a regular dissolution is the same thing as a divorce, a summary dissolution is a shortened version of the process. Couples who qualify for a summary dissolution are not required to fill out as much paperwork, and they do not need to appear in court for a trial.

Tell the court that you and your spouse or domestic partner want to stop the summary divorce process. This must be done within 6 months after you filed Joint Petition for Summary Dissolution (form FL-800) and other paperwork to start the case.
