Re-enrollment is the process of returning to school after an absence. Also, re-enrollment can refer to the act of enrolling in a different school after attending one previously. It can happen for various reasons but is most often related to a change in circumstances, such as a move to a new district or state.

If you've previously enrolled in a Rutgers undergraduate degree program (other than the School of Health Professions) and wish to return to undergraduate courses, use the Re-Enrollment Application.

Any student previously enrolled and matriculated in any of the Rutgers University's undergraduate divisions. You must have completed a minimum of one (1) fall and/or spring academic term as a matriculated student at Rutgers University. You must have stopped-out for at least one (1) fall and/or spring academic term.

If you've previously enrolled in a Rutgers undergraduate degree program (other than the School of Health Professions) and wish to return to undergraduate courses, use the Re-Enrollment Application.

A Special Permission Number (SPN) is a 6-digit number used to allow a student to register for a course that is full or not open to their major or class year.

Full-time Students. They may register for a maximum of 20.5 credits per semester and must register for a minimum of 12 credits to be considered full-time students under university regulations and federal law. Full-time students on academic warning for the first time may carry a maximum of 16 credits.
