Include a typed notation within the body of the legal document where the exhibit should be referenced. Thereafter, assign the exhibit with an identifying number or letter. For instance, this notation can state either "See Exhibit A" or "See Exhibit 1".

A quick definition of exhibit list: An exhibit list is a document that lists all the things that a person wants to show as evidence in a trial. This list is made before the trial starts, and it helps the court to resolve any disagreements about what evidence can be used.

Exhibit. An exhibit is an additional document attached to the end of a lease or contract. An exhibit frequently will include form documents ancillary to the main contract, such as agreed-upon closing documents attached to a real estate purchase contract or documents a tenant must sign, such as a lease guaranty.

Exhibits include documents, photographs, physical objects, emails, text messages, audio tapes and videos. Not all documents presented as evidence will be marked as an exhibit. Only those items that the court deems as relevant will be marked as evidence and placed into evidence.

Every exhibit should be labeled with exhibit stickers so that a court reporter doesn't need to do this at trial. Generally, exhibits are labeled in alphabetical or numerical order to provide clear guideposts for the progression of exhibits.

(Cal. Rules of Court, rule 8.74(a)(5).) Exhibits that exceeds 25 megabytes can be submitted in segments of 25 megabytes or less. Each segment must be numbered consecutively from the first page of the first segment to the last page of the last segment, using only the Arabic numbering system, as in 1, 2, 3.

Place one sticker on the bottom right corner of the first page of each exhibit. ✓ If you are the plaintiff, use a yellow sticker. ✓ If you are the defendant, use a blue sticker. Once you have put stickers on the first pages of all of your exhibits, place the exhibits in an order you like.
