A: No. Carrying a firearm or other weapon onto a Navy installation is against the law. In order to carry a firearm on Navy installations, you must obtain the commanding officer's permission in writing whether LEOSA qualified or with a state issued concealed firearms permit.

The only people who can carry guns around a base—concealed or otherwise—are on-duty military police, who handle routine security. They then have to return their guns to the armory when their shifts are over. There are exceptions for on-duty local or state police officers who come to the base on official business.

Individuals carrying under LEOSA/HR 218 are carrying under FEDERAL Law and so must follow federal laws and federal agency policies that restrict the carrying of concealed firearms in certain federal buildings and lands (including buildings in national parks) and on airplanes.

If you have completed 10 years of service with AFOSI, you qualify for LEOSA credential from them.

The LEOSA has limits and exceptions. It does not apply to all firearms and weapons. For example, it does not authorize either qualified law enforcement officers, or qualified retired law enforcement officers, to carry any of the following: machineguns, silencers, or destructive Page 3 devices.

LEOSA credentialed personnel may temporarily store their privately owned firearm for up to 24 hours in their privately owned vehicle while on the base or when they must access prohibited concealed carry locations. When stored in their privately owned vehicle, the vehicle must be locked at all times when unattended.

3.3. Off-duty military members or on-duty members not armed as part of security forces who are LEOSA-credentialed are permitted to conceal-carry.

Yes, under 926B if they are active and meet all the requirements. And under 926C if they retire/separate with more than 10 yrs.
