Follow the steps to complete the Faa Asthma Worksheet online.

  1. Click the ‘Get Form’ button to access the Faa Asthma Worksheet and open it in the editor.
  2. Review the first section regarding the treating physician's current status report. Ensure the physician has indicated that the applicant's condition is stable and that no changes in the treatment regimen are recommended.
  3. Indicate whether the applicant's symptoms are stable and well-controlled by checking the relevant option, ensuring it is consistent with the frequency of symptoms and medication usage detailed in the criteria.
  4. Complete the section on acceptable medications by selecting one or more from the list provided (e.g., inhaled long-acting beta agonist, inhaled short-acting beta agonist). Make sure to note any specific medication requirements.

These medical conditions include a personality disorder manifested by overt acts, a psychosis, alcoholism, drug dependence, epilepsy, an unexplained disturbance of consciousness, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and diabetes requiring medication for its control.

CACI stands for “Conditions AMEs Can Issue.” The FAA physicians in Oklahoma City and Washington, D.C., amended the certification policy (different and easier than having to change a “regulation”) for a group of low-risk medical conditions to eliminate the special issuance requirement.

You may be worried that the medical will stop you from learning to fly. Common concerns usually include: Vision - the standard requirement allows you to wear glasses or contact lenses. Asthma - if you have asthma you may need to take some additional tests but providing it is well controlled it need not be a problem.

AME Assisted - All Classes - Asthma. Note: If the applicant has mild symptoms that are infrequent, have not required hospitalization, or use of steroid medication, and no symptoms in flight, the Examiner may issue an airman medical certificate.

Allergies and Asthma: Common allergy is not disqualifying. If you are often taking medication this may have to be changed or discontinued when you commence flying duties (e.g. many allergy medicines cause drowsiness). Asthma may be disqualifying and it is evaluated on an individual basis.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A medical is required prior to solo flight. We recommend obtaining a FIRST CLASS medical if you want to become a professional pilot. If you are looking to fly recreationally, then a THIRD CLASS medical is required.
