How do you use Abbott glucose monitor?

Turn on the reader by pressing the button on the bottom right hand corner. Hold the reader within 4 cm (1.5 inches) of the sensor to scan it. You can scan through clothing. The reader can collect data from the sensor within 1 – 4 cm of the sensor. Your reader will show your glucose level on the screen.

Target Glucose Range is pre-set to 70 to 180 mg/dL on the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader.

Normal Results If you had a fasting blood glucose test, a level between 70 and 100 mg/dL (3.9 and 5.6 mmol/L) is considered normal. If you had a random blood glucose test, a normal result depends on when you last ate. Most of the time, the blood glucose level will be 125 mg/dL (6.9 mmol/L) or lower.

The ADA Blood Glucose Log Book allows you to easily track your pre- and post-meal blood glucose levels and medication dosages for improved blood glucose management.

For a complete glycaemic picture (to ensure all the data is transferred from you sensor), scan at least once every 8 hours. Most people will want to scan more often anyway- at least 6 times a day is recommended.
