A restored version replaces the current version. Save a copy of the version displayed on the right as a new spreadsheet: Hold down the Option key on the keyboard, then click Restore a Copy. Numbers opens the copy in a new window, where you can edit it and save it with a new name.

In the Version History list, select the spreadsheet you want to restore. If you're not sure which version you want to restore, select a spreadsheet, then click Preview. To compare it with another version, select another version, then click Preview again. The preview is view-only (you can't make any changes to it).

With the spreadsheet open, choose File > Revert To (from the File menu at the top of your screen), then choose Browse All Versions. The window refreshes to show a thumbnail of your current version on the left and a stack of thumbnails of the previous versions on the right.

The version number is increased by one digit, depending on the type of changes made in the new versioning. For example, software version 1.3. 1 means that the software is in its first major version, with three additional functionalities added, and one patch fix implemented.

1.0.0 is the first stable release. 1.1. 0 is the first feature release. in this version a new feature is added. It will not break backward-compatibility.

With the current version of your spreadsheet open, choose File > Revert To > Browse All Versions (from the File menu at the top of your screen). The timeline for the spreadsheet opens. The current version appears in the window on the left. Earlier versions appear in the window on the right.

Reading version numbers The leftmost number (1) is called the major version. The middle number (2) is called the minor version. The rightmost number (3) is called the revision but it may also be referred to as a "point release" or "subminor version".

The version number should appear on any document title page, and also in the header or footer of each page. To ensure against the accidental loss of final versions of records, a read-only tag can also be applied. Should any changes to this document be made, the user will be prompted to save the file with a new title.

Open Numbers file on your iOS device. Tap “Document” and find the “Location list” in the left column. Tap “Recently Deleted”. Tap “Select” to choose the deleted Numbers file you want to recover, then tap “Recover” to restore the deleted Numbers Spreadsheet on iPad/iPhone.
