The Specialty Track Program is an integral part of the Senior Member Professional Development Program as outlined in CAP Regulation 50-17. Members should use the program to obtain on-the-job training and experience in areas of personal interest or areas in which their unit has specific needs.

Specialty tracks were developed to allow senior members the opportunity to train and develop proficiency in areas of personal interest or in areas that are needed to support unit operations.

This category of membership is designed for members of the business community who demonstrate a desire to financially support CAP's missions and programs. CAP cadet membership is open to youth 12 to 18 years old. Cadets can opt to change to adult membership at age 18, or stay in the cadet program until age 21.

All Auxiliary Airmen of CAP should be able to recite the five pillars: Mind, Body, Relationships, Spirit, and Family. Every member should be able to perform a “self-check” that determines their fitness in each pillar.

Members may branch out to lead activities, participate in real-world missions beyond their squadron, and pilot CAP aircraft. An ELT found that was transmitting a distress signal. Observing a military aircrew at work during a cadet orientation flight. Briefing at a mission base during a search and rescue exercise.

Senior membership is the category is for adults who wish to participate in CAP programs. This privilege may be enjoyed as long as the member observes and complies with the CAP Constitution and Bylaws and other governing directives. Senior membership has four sub-categories: active, fifty-year, life, and cadet sponsor.

There are three types of squadrons, senior, cadet and composite. Senior squadrons are solely made up of senior members. members who oversee the training and administration. have two separate programs, one for senior members, and one for cadets.
