Culpable conduct of the plaintiff under CPLR Article 14-A. Discharge in bankruptcy. Illegality. Fraud. Infancy or other disability of the defendant. Payment.

Most defenses to breach of contract are "affirmative defenses." To support an affirmative defense, you must assert facts or circumstances that render the breach claim moot.
