What do I attach to an amended 1120?

For Form 1120 – Attach to the amended Form 1120, the XML Form 1120-X completed through Part I, line 10 or 11, as applicable, and Part II with the line number of each amended item, the corrected amount or treatment of the item, and an explanation of the reasons for each change.

The corporation must file its Form 1120X with the IRS Service Center where it filed the original return.

You do not need to attach a copy of the original return to the amended return. If you choose to attach the original return, refer to Attaching Portable Document Format (PDF) file to electronic files for more information.

Submitting Amended tax returns where the original return has been accepted by HMRC: Start the software and open the record for which you want to submit an amended return. On the 'Company Information' screen, select the Accounting Period you want to amend, click 'Edit Period' and select 'Tax return type' of 'Amended'

You must use Florida Form F-1120X to correct a tax return that you previously filed on Florida Forms F-1120 or F-1120A. Use Florida Form F-1120X to correct your return as originally filed or as later adjusted by an amended return, a claim for refund, or an examination.

If a reportable transaction results in a loss or credit carried back to a prior tax year, attach Form 8886 for the carryback years. If Form 1120X is used as a carryback claim, attach copies of Form 1120, page 1 and the tax computation page, for both the year the loss or credit originated and for the carryback year.

Once your business is registered in Florida as a foreign corporation, you will be required to file an annual report. The cost of the annual report is $150, and is due by May 1 of the following year. Often, your Registered Agent will forward you the notice approximately 60 days before the due date.

You'll need to attach these items if you need to prove the changes on your amended return: A copy of the federal refund deposit slip. Any previously unsubmitted W-2 or 1099 forms. Any other substantiating forms, schedules, or documentation supporting the amended return.
