The FFMQ is a 39-item instrument that uses five polytomous response options to assess five different aspects of mindfulness: observing, describing, acting with awareness, non-judging, and non-reactivity to inner experience.

The Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), a multifactorial scale developed by Baer et al. (2006), has been widely used owing to its practical psychometric properties. The five factors of the FFMQ are: observe, describe, act with awareness, non-judging of inner experience, and non-reactivity to inner experience.

The analysis yielded the following five factors: (1) nonreactivity to inner experience, (2) observing, (3) acting with awareness, (4) describing, (5) nonjudging of experience.

The FFMQ has consistently shown excellent psychometric properties (Baer, Walsh & Lykins, 2009), with high levels of construct validity (Montgomery, Hatton, Fisk, Ogden & Jansari, 2010) as well as reliability, with Cronbach alphas for the subscales in the range of 0.73-0.91 (Sung-Youl, 2015) .

The FFMQ is one of the most widely used scales for assessing dispositional mindfulness. The questionnaire comprises five factors: observing, describing, acting with awareness, nonjudging of inner experience, and nonreactivity to inner experience.

The Chinese version of the FFMQ-SF is a 20-item self-report questionnaire [19] that assesses five facets of mindfulness: observing one's reaction (observing), ability to describe this reaction (describing), acting with awareness, nonjudging of inner experience (nonjudging), and nonreacting to inner experience ( ...
