  13. Specify the method of transportation used for the shipment, e.g. vessel, air, rail, or truck.
  14. Record the name of the exporting carrier transporting the goods out of the U.S.
  15. Enter the port of export where the merchandise is shipped from.
  16. If applicable, provide the foreign port of unloading for vessel shipments.
  17. Check the appropriate box for whether the shipment contains hazardous materials.
  18. Complete other applicable fields based on shipment specifics, such as the shipment reference number and entry number.
  19. Fill in the Schedule B Description of Commodities along with the associated quantities, shipping weight, and pertinent identifiers.
  20. In the final step, review all entries for accuracy before saving, downloading, printing, or sharing the completed form.

A U.S. Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) was a standard United States government form required for all U.S. exports with commodities valued at US$2,500 or higher. It has been replaced with the Electronic Export Information form (EEI).

In order to obtain and EDN (Export Declaration Number), an exporter (or an exporter's agent) must lodge an export declaration with the Customs using the prescribed format. The two ways to lodge the declaration include: Manually: The document is prepared manually and submitted at one of the counters of the Customers.

How do you make an export declaration? You must lodge your customs declaration electronically, using Revenue's Automated Entry Processing (AEP) system, which is described later in this guide. The customs declaration gives all the information needed about what are the goods and what is happening to the shipment.

Purpose and Use of the SED The use of export declaration is for export control which is used to help locate and prevent the export of certain commodities to unsanctioned destinations or by unauthorized parties. At the port of export, shippers submit an export declaration form.

File at AESDirect.gov and provide your Internal Transaction Number (ITN) to UPS as proof of filing. Create a SED from UPS shipping system. UPS will file it electronically on your behalf. Provide your company's printed SED.

An export declaration is a type of form submitted at the port, providing details about the goods that are bound for export. The export declaration is required each time goods are exported to a country outside the EU, and the document is used by the customs authority to control exports.
